Show Home

Pioneer Show Home – Click on image to load 3d web version but be patient as it will take a minute or two to load the first time.

Right now this scene consists of just the basic model and single camera setup but more features may be added in the future.

Note – these 3d web models require a relatively modern computer to run properly.  If you’re having issues, you might find you why at the Verge3d WebGL System Report page.  WebGL seems to work best with Chrome but is supported by most modern browsers.   You can also visit the  WebGL test page to see if you see the spinning cube.  If so, you should be good to go.

Controls:

Left Mouse – Rotate
Right Mouse – Scroll/Pan
Wheel – Zoom in/out

Photogrammetry: Antique Oliver OC3

I experimented with a few different photogrammetry projects over the summer – where a series of images are turned into a 3d model.  I’ve been using some open source software called Meshroom to do this.  Click on the image below to check out the 3d scan of this old Oliver OC3.  NOTE – this may take from a few seconds to a few minutes to load depending on your computer and Internet speed, and may not work on older computers!

Use your left mouse button to rotate the screen around and your scroll wheel to zoom in and out.  Note – there are a bunch of holes, etc in the model – this is just a function of the picture scanning/model reconstruction process (some of my pictures weren’t good enough!).    It’s not really as rough as it looks here – this old OC3 was running when it was parked…

Heli Ride

I just made a few tweaks to “Heli Ride”, an interactive 3d web app I made with Blender and Verge3d.  There are a few other “projects” elsewhere on this blog but this is the first time I published one on the Verge3d Network…

Bell 47 Scene

Learned a few more things doing this scene…  There’s a fair bit going on in this scene so it will take a bit of time to load.

3d Player’s Racing Hat

Player’s Racing Hat – Greg Moore autographed

Click on the image below to load the 3d scene…  This may take a minute or two to load.

I was fortunate enough to catch up with Greg Moore at the Laguna Seca racetrack in California at the season finale Indycar/Indy Lights events in 1995.   He was happy to autograph the hat of a fellow BC resident.  Greg Moore won the Indy Lights championship that weekend and set a record for the most races won during a season.  That weekend was also the final race of Jacques Villeneuve in Indycar, where he also won the championship before moving on to Formula One the next year.
